Kim Peterson, DVM, established Critter Care in 1998 as a full-service house-call practice. She founded the clinic with the firm belief in compassionate and personal care for your family pets.  Dr. Peterson is a graduate from the College of St. Benedict, and the University of Minnesota of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in surgery and internal medicine.


Dayna Wardell Ames, DVM, grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned a degree as a Registered Dental Hygenist.  She then went on to earn her degree in veterinary medicine at Kansas State University.  Dr. Ames has been practicing animal medicine and surgery since 1999.


Robert Robbins,DVM, grew up in Wisconsin and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison. In 1995, after spending two years treating dairy cows in a small town in central Wisconsin, Dr. Robbins and his family relocated to Yorkville. He has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery in the area ever since.


Joe Foerner, DVM,is a board certified surgeon with over 30 years experience working with horses, exotics, and small animals. Dr. Foerner grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois for his undergraduate and veterinary school. After interning at the University of Pennsylvania and working at a mixed practice in rural Pennsylvania, he returned to Illinois and joined the Illinois Equine Hospital and Clinic in Naperville until 2004.  Dr. Foerner performs referral work for Brookfield Zoo and Lincoln Park Zoo, in addition to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, and the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus in Washington D.C. He also continues to do referral equine surgeries, as well as consults on many surgical and lameness cases.
